  • SAGE Test Delivery System: Offline Starting 5:00 p.m. on September 28th/Back Online on October 2nd

In preparation for the opening of the SAGE Summative testing window, the SAGE Test Delivery System (TDS) will be taken offline starting at 5:00 p.m. MT on Thursday, September 28th. Therefore, you will NOT be able to deliver Benchmark or Interim tests on Friday, September 29th.

Benchmark, Interim, and Summative assessments will be available on Monday morning, October 2nd.

Please remember that the administration of SAGE Summative assessments is for course instruction that has been completed and should correspond with the LEA testing plan that was submitted.

  • New Grade 6-8 Science Standards – Interim and Benchmark Tests

Due to the newness of the standards and the small size of the question banks, there are no benchmark or interim assessments currently available on the SAGE portal for the new grade 6 – 8 Science with Engineering Education (SEEd) standards.  Once the review process is complete, there will be a training test and practice tests available.  Once benchmark or interim tests become available, we will send out an announcement.  All other elementary (4th and 5th grade) and high school benchmark and interim assessments are available for teachers to use.  If you have any question, please direct them to Scott Roskelley at

  • Text-to-Speech Licenses for Windows users who have the Julie Voice Pack installed:

As you are aware, NeoSpeech and AIR provide the Julie voice pack for text-to-speech for students to use on Windows machines with the SAGE tests.  The license agreement between NeoSpeech and AIR was recently renewed and will extend through 2020. However, the current license files associated with the voice packs will expire on May 3, 2017. Therefore, by May 3, 2017, districts will need to copy a new license file to the appropriate folder on Windows machines used for student testing. LEAs do not need to re-install the voice pack itself if it is already installed; they only need to update the license file, or “verification.txt” file.  If this is not done, the Julie voice pack will revert to the demo version.

  • Preparing for Spring Summative Testing

Before beginning Spring 2017 Summative Testing, LEAs should take the following steps:

    1. Ensure that all student testing devices are using a supported operating system.
      1. If using Chrome OS, make sure that devices are updated to release version 56.0.2924.110. This build contains a number of fixes and security updates.
    2. Ensure that all student testing devices have the most recent SAGE Browser.
    3. Review the information on the secure browser page and ensure that any related requirements are met (e.g. disabling fast user switching).
    4. Use the training tests to ensure that student test settings and accommodations are correctly set and that students know how to use them.
      1. If students will be using assistive devices during the test, ensure that they use them during the training test and that all hardware and software is correctly configured.

  • Important: The Winter Window closes at the end of the day on Friday, March 3. Any benchmark, interim and summative tests that have not been completed before this time will be force completed by the system. Please ensure that all of your students have completed their tests before this date.
